Roll-out Carts:
The town will furnish one 90 gallon container for each dwelling unit on a lot (for example, a duplex will receive two containers).
Cart Maintenance:
Customers are responsible for keeping their carts clean. The owner or resident of the property is responsible for the security and maintenance of the container and for its replacement in the event it is lost or removed during residency changes. The town will replace stolen carts, without cost, if a police report evidencing such theft is presented to the town.
Additional Carts & Cart Repairs:
You may request an additional cart or cart repairs online or by calling the Town of Nashville Finance Department at 252-459-4511.
Position your cart correctly:
Please place your cart at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day prior. Please remove carts from the curb on the day of service.
The arrows on the cart lid must face out toward the street.
Leave four feet of space between carts so that the truck's mechanical arm can grip the cart.
Carts must be at least 4 feet away from utility poles, fences, mailboxes, fire hydrants, trees, cars, and any other objects.
Bag your trash:
All trash must be bagged before it is placed in the cart. This prevents fly-away litter as the trash cast is emptied into the trash truck.
