The Town of Nashville’s Planning Department oversees various planning procedure requests that require approval from Planning Staff, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, and Town Council. Those requests include a rezoning request, ordinance amendment, special use request, variance request, annexation request, minor subdivision, and major subdivision.
- Planning Staff: Issue approvals of Zoning Compliance Certificates, Sign Permit Certificates, Yard Sale Certificates, Mobile Food Vending Certificates, Beer and Wine Licenses, and Minor Subdivisions that are in compliance with the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.
- Planning Board: Serves as the governing board that makes recommendations to the Town Council, regarding Rezoning Requests, Ordinance Amendments, and Major Subdivisions.
- Board of Adjustment: Serves as a quasi-judicial board that approves Variance Requests that are in compliance with the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.
- Town Council: Serves as the governing board for Rezoning Requests, Ordinance Amendments, and Major Subdivisions, and serves as the quasi-judicial board that approves Special Use Permits that are in compliance with the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.
