The Town of Nashville’s Planning Department issue Zoning Certificates of Compliance, Sign Certificates, Yard Sale Certificates, Mobile Food Vending Certificates, and Temporary Certificates. 

• No occupied or vacant land shall be changed, and no new or existing building shall be erected or altered until a zoning certificate of compliance and a certificate of occupancy have been issued, as set forth in Chapter 18-Article II-Division 8-Sec.18-220 of the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.   

• No exterior sign(s) may be erected, painted, repainted, posted, reposted, placed, replaced, or hung in any district, except in compliance with Chapter 18-Article II-Division 5.

• A yard sale permit must be obtained from the town prior to conducting a yard sale as set forth in Chapter 28-Article II-Sec.28-36 of the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances. 

• No mobile vending may take place in the town without prior written approval of the zoning administrator, or the Town Council as set forth in Chapter 18-Article II-Division 4-Sec.18-109.b.17 of the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.  

• Temporary Certificates may be issued by the Zoning Administrator for zoning compliance of temporary uses for a fixed period of time, not exceeding 90 days, subject to limitations to protect the character of the district affected, as set forth in Chapter 18-Artilce II-Division 8-Sec.18-222 of the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances.
